Yes. Use Find My Home to tell us the street, suburb or town you are interested in. We will research the available historical maps and look for options that show your area clearly. It can be your own place or somewhere meaningful to a gift recipient.

Submit the location and we will research the available archives. You will receive a personalised webpage showing the maps we found, with images, dates and pricing. There is no obligation to buy and no payment is taken unless you choose an option.

Not every location has surviving historical map coverage. If we cannot find a suitable option for your area, we will let you know. The research is still free and there is no obligation to purchase.

We mainly work from digitised historical maps held by public and government institutions, including State Library Victoria and the State Library of New South Wales. We also work from private collections and digitise original manuscripts and plans in our studio.

Our standard print sizes are A3 at 420 x 297 mm, A2 at 594 x 420 mm and A1 at 841 x 594 mm. These are the final trimmed paper sizes and include a white border of at least 10 mm.

We print on 310 gsm, 100% cotton rag paper with a light natural texture. Museum-grade archival pigment inks are used for colour, detail and longevity.

Framed maps are set behind an off-white mat board in a handcrafted Victorian Ash frame. Depending on the size, the artwork is protected with clear glass or acrylic and supplied ready to hang. Listed sizes refer to the print, so the finished framed piece will be larger.

An exact match between a screen and a printed map is not possible because screens use light and prints use ink. Victorian Ash is a natural timber, so grain, tone and small natural markings will also vary from frame to frame. These variations are part of the material rather than faults.

Prices are in Australian dollars. We accept major credit cards and PayPal. We do not store or have access to your card details.

Each piece is made to order. Unframed prints usually take 2 to 3 business days to produce. Framed works usually take 1 to 2 weeks before dispatch.

Orders are sent by Express Post with tracking. Once dispatched, estimated delivery is 1 to 2 business days for metropolitan addresses and 2 to 4 business days for regional addresses. International shipping is available, with timing and any import charges depending on the destination.

Email hello@printmodern.com.au as soon as possible, ideally within 7 days of delivery, with a description and photographs of the problem. We will respond within 2 business days and arrange an appropriate remedy in line with Australian Consumer Law.

Because each Print Modern piece is made specifically for its customer, we do not offer returns or refunds for change of mind. This does not limit your rights if an item is faulty, damaged or materially different from what was described.
